Terms
These are the terms for using Scrawlcut and for buying a plan. By using Scrawlcut, you agree to them.
Who makes Scrawlcut
Scrawlcut is made and run by an independent maker in the Philippines, @h.isthere on Instagram (“we” and “us” on this page). You can reach us at h.isthere@scrawlcut.com.
Using Scrawlcut
You can make videos in Scrawlcut without an account. You need to be at least 13 to use it, and if you’re under 18 you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to buy a plan.
Scrawlcut runs in your browser, so what it can export, such as 4K or 60 fps, depends on your browser and device. Before each export it checks, and tells you if something won’t work.
What you make is yours
You own the videos, drawings and projects you make in Scrawlcut. We don’t claim any rights to them. They stay in your browser, where we can’t see them, unless you turn on cloud sync.
If you turn on cloud sync, you let us store what you upload and send it back to you. We use it for nothing else.
On every plan, Free included, you can use what you make commercially: post it, monetize it or sell it.
Music and other people’s work
Scrawlcut doesn’t come with rights to music, footage, fonts or anything else you bring in. You need permission to use them, and exporting a video doesn’t give you that permission. Check the music rules of wherever you post.
The three starter templates use original songs made for Scrawlcut. You’re free to post videos you make with them.
What you can’t do
- Use Scrawlcut for anything illegal, or to make content that infringes other people’s rights, harasses anyone or exploits children.
- Get around plan limits or the payment system, or share or resell a paid account.
- Use cloud sync to store files that aren’t part of your Scrawlcut projects or library.
- Try to get into another person’s account or data, or disrupt, overload or attack the service.
Your account
Accounts open with paid plans. You’ll need one only to buy a plan or use cloud sync, and you sign in with Google. An account is for one person. Keep your Google account secure, since anyone who can sign in to it can use your plan.
Plans and payments
Paid plans aren’t open yet. When they open, they come with these terms. Prices are in US dollars, shown on the Pricing card and again at checkout, where tax is added if it applies.
Our order process is run by our online reseller, Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record for every order. You buy from Lemon Squeezy, and its buyer terms apply to the payment. It also handles questions about tax and billing. Your card details go to Lemon Squeezy, not to us.
Subscriptions
Pro Weekly ($2.99 every 7 days), Pro Monthly ($8 a month) and Pro Annual ($59 a year) renew automatically. At the end of each period you’re charged for the next one, until you cancel.
You can cancel any time from your account page, or from the link in your receipt email. Cancelling stops the next charge, and you keep the plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
If we change a plan’s price, we’ll email you before it applies to you. The new price starts at your next renewal at the earliest, and you can cancel before then.
If a renewal payment fails, the plan’s paid features pause until it goes through. If it never goes through, the plan ends.
Clean Export Pass
A Clean Export Pass ($1.49, paid once) is good for one successful export: one MP4 at 1080p and 30 fps without the Scrawlcut mark, including from a template. It doesn’t add Pro tools. An export that fails, or that you cancel, doesn’t use the pass, and downloading the finished file again doesn’t use another. A pass belongs to your account and doesn’t expire.
Early Supporter Lifetime
Early Supporter is $39, paid once, for the first 100 creators. It includes everything in Pro Annual, cloud sync included, with no renewals.
“Lifetime” means for as long as we run Scrawlcut. It doesn’t mean unlimited storage: Early Supporter has the same cloud storage limits as Pro Annual. It belongs to the account that bought it and can’t be moved to another account.
If all 100 places are taken by the time your payment goes through, or your account already has Early Supporter, the payment is refunded in full automatically.
Cloud sync
Cloud sync comes with Pro Annual and Early Supporter. It stays off until you turn it on for a project or for your library, and signing in alone uploads nothing. It holds up to 10 active projects, within the storage limits shown on your account page.
If your Pro Annual plan ends, you can still open and download what’s in your cloud, but you can’t save new changes to it. We won’t delete cloud data from an ended plan without emailing you at least 30 days first.
Cloud sync is a convenience, not a guarantee. Keep your own copy of work that matters: in the editor, choose File, then Download with media.
Refunds
All purchases are final, and we don’t give refunds. The refunds page lists the few exceptions, such as billing mistakes.
Changes to Scrawlcut
Scrawlcut is in early access and changes often. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you’re paying for, or stop running Scrawlcut, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before and stop any further renewals.
Whatever happens to your plan, the projects in your browser stay there, and they still open and download.
Ending your use
You can stop using Scrawlcut at any time. To delete your account and everything it holds, email us.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, for example through fraud or abuse of chargebacks. If we close an account for any other reason, we’ll tell you why and stop any further renewals.
No guarantees
We work to keep Scrawlcut running and your work safe, but it’s provided as it is. We don’t promise that it will always be available, be free of bugs or suit a particular purpose. Projects are stored in your browser, and clearing the browser’s data deletes them. We can’t get them back.
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost work. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Scrawlcut in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing on this page takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Other services
Scrawlcut uses Google to sign you in, Supabase to store accounts and cloud data, Lemon Squeezy for payments and Cloudflare to host the site. Their own terms cover how they work. The privacy page says what each one sees.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll post the new version here with a new date. If a change affects a plan you’re on, we’ll email you before it applies. If you keep using Scrawlcut after a change, you accept it.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the laws where you live.
